Like most students, Mount Saint Mary’s students rely on financial assistance whether it be federal or state aid, personal loans, or scholarships generously funded by alumnae, parents, faculty and friends of the University.
Without scholarship funds, many deserving students would not have the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a college education, a meaningful career, and a chance at a bright, successful future.
In academic year 2018-2019, our students received significant support from private, foundation and corporate funded scholarships. From 256 expendable and endowed scholarships 432 students received a total of 796 awards in the amount of $4.2 million. We are deeply grateful for the generous support provided by our MSMU community.
“My experience at the Mount has allowed me to become a strong and independent woman. It has shown me what I am capable of!”
Celeste Tobar, a double major in chemistry and mathematics, co-created the M² (M Squared) Club, which aims to help young women master mathematics. She has conducted undergraduate research in the lab of Mount Professor Deniz Cizmeciyan, as well as with UCLA and Cornell University. When she is not busy with academics, she spends time volunteering at the California Science Center.

After graduating from MSMU she plans to utilize the leadership and academic skills she has gained to pursue an advanced degree. Celeste is very grateful for the opportunities she was provided through the scholarship support she received, and would one day like to give back to students in the same way!Read more...
